On Monday, 23rd inst., we held our first bull fair in our Stratford yards when there were 78 animals yarded, most of which were sold at full market values. The cattle, with few exceptions, showed the severity of the weather, and consequently were in lower condition than is usual at this time of the year. The following prices were realised: Ayrshire ■ bulls sgns, Shorthorn (good quality bulls on account of Messrs, Hann Bros.) 7 gun to 12 gns, Holstein Jersey cross bulls 7i gns, grade Jersey bulls 5 gns to 7 gns, pure bred Jersey bulls 7 gns to 12 gns, yearling Shorthorn bulls 4 gns'. There was a nice line of Holstein bulls offered on account of Messrs Hann Bros., bred by Mr Henry Johnson, which met with strong competition from local speculators, resulting in one falling to a Huiroa buyer at 151 gns, and another to a Toko buyer at 12 gns. We hold a supplementary bull fair on the 20th November.
