A NEW SOUTH WALES LEGISLATOR. Melbourne, October 26. The death is announced of Mr. Donald Macdonnell, Chief Secretary for Now South Wales. Sydney, October 26. Mr. Macdonnell’s death is regarded as a great blow to the Labour movement. The Assembly met and adjourned out of respect to the deceased. Members of both sides expressed their deep regret. The late Mr. Macdonnell was generally regarded as one of the most popular and most able members of the Cabinet. Besides being Chief Secretary, ho was general secretary of the Australian Workers’ Union, tho biggest union in the Commonwealth. _ ” The Federal Caucus was sitting when it was informed of Mr. Macdonuoll’s death.
