SHELLING AT BENG HAZI. FOUR THOUSAND CASUALTIES. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press Association.J . Malta, October 25. Tripoli advices state that there was heavy shelling at Benghazi and much damage. The British Consulate was wrecked. ' ' It is reported that there were four thousand casualties, chiefly of inhabitants. FIERCE ONSLAUGHT ON TRIPOLI. (Received 2G, 8.80 a.m.) Rome, October 25. The Italians lost six killed and twenty-six wounded in yesterday’s attack. Tripoli, October 25 Turkish and Arab horsemen made a fierce onslaught on Tripoli, hurling themselves on tiie Italian hues. The latter opened a heavy and broke the charge, the enemy withdrawing with much loss. It is officially announced that the Italian loss at Benghazi is 109 killed and wounded. RED SEA LIGHTS. ' (Received 26, 9.5 a.m.) Rome, October 25. Tiie relighting of the Italian lights in the Rod Sea has been ordered.
TREACHEROUS ARABS. OBSERVATIONS BY AEROPLANE A CARAVAN ROBBED. Tripoli, October 25. Hundreds of Arabs were arrested after Monday's battle for treacherously firing on Italians from the rear. Those seen firing were shot. At the courtmartial’s directions Kavass, at the German Consulate, was publicly shot for stabbing and wounding an Italian soldier. An aviator aeroplancd thirty-five miles inland. Several thousand armed men were observed. The aeroplane terrified the Arabs, many of them burying their valuables. , Constantinople, October 25. An armed band at. Elbassin attacked the Monastir-Scutari postal caravan, and stole £21,300 intended for payment of troops.
