The Church of England Men’s-So-ciety and members of the church will entertain the Rev. R. B. S. Hammond at a luncheon on Thursday next at 1 p.m., at Mrs Brown’s rooms. A general invitation is given to all churchmen to , be present.*' Oddfellows’ euchre party takes place to-night at 8 o’clock. On Thursday next- Messrs- Lamaf-tm and Melville conduct a clearing sale of household furniture on account of Messrs Kemp and Sawle at Mr Kemp’s residence. Everything is in good order, and those requiring furniture should not miss seeing the sideboards, linoleums, suites, kauri wardrobe, etc., etc., which will he on oiler without reserve at 1.20 sharp. Messrs. Young, Hobbs and Co. hold a stock sale at the Stratfi-ri yards to-morrow. Mr. John Leydon’s furniture factory in Fenton Street has been kept unusually busy of late, and bis big staff of competent upholsterers and cabinetmakers lias had to be increased. Some large orders have been executed, and with satisfaction to all concerned.
