INDUSTRIAL UNREST.

SYDNEY WHARF STRIKE

DEEP SEA MEN THE CAUSE

Sydney, October 22. The strike position is unaltered. Sailors continue to work perishable cargo, but no other is touched on the coastal and inter-Stato vessels. Fruit merchants unloaded the Paloona’s with their own workmen, the wharf labourers having declined a guarantee of an extra threepence offered for tin's vessel. The President of the Inter-State Steamship Owners declares that the strike was brought about by the deep sea men, who are desirous themselves of obtaining a further increase.
