J. Jacobsen (Midhirst). —On September 10th I found four horses on the road near my gate and On the 11th I found one horse on the Queen’s Drive, all of which , were released. On the 14th I got oiie.horse on the same .read, (released) arid on the 20th I impounded one horse in the Stratford pound. , I may state that this horse had given me trouble night after night and the owner did not take much notice of warnings. On the 26th 1 found one crippled horse on Beaconsfield Road (released). On October 2nd I found four horses ch Kent Terrace (released). , Qjving to complaints I went round ,thc , tpwn at 1 •a.m. on the stji and found five horses straying on the, main road. I found accommodation Tor thorn and they were all released in , the morning. The same morning I fennel one horse, the same cripple as I caught on September 26th, and which has caused me no end of" trouble. On October 7th I found seven cows on Kent Terrace. The owner of. these cows is continually grazing them on the roads, especially , when. lam not about. I know from complaints received that on two days', when I was in "Stratford the same CowS were being looked after by two'children on Kent Terrace. •On • the vT-thf ■as/'Stated;'. .I-went.'myray but returned-anti surprised them. The owner of the cow" still takes about an hour or so to drive the cows about ten chain's, thereby damaging other people’s hedges and fences. Really these cows are all the worry in Midhirst. I have been round the town every morning and evening since I started at different hours, and I do not think there is much to complain about excepting the cows mentioned. No other stock of any sort has been grazed on the (loads since the 7th—unless they take , advantage of the dark nights. ' ,
