Timaru, October 16. By a collision between a taxi-cab and gig on Saturday night, on a bill a mile north of town, a horse trainer named Edward Blackmoro was seriously injured on the head and body. The gig was without lights, and the collision took place at a sharp corner. Blackmoro was progressing well this morning.

Westport, October 10. At the inquest on the body found in the Puller River, evidence was given by firemen on the s.s. Kini, identifying it as that of Robert Rugby, formerly fireman on the Regulars, but at the time he disappeared (Saturday night, September 30) ho was fireman on the s.s. Gertie. Deceased was a native of London, 26 /years of age, and has a brother at sea on the s.s. Aorangi.
