AMUSEMENTS.
HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. Last week’s second programme was shown for the last time at His Majesty’s Theatre on Saturday night. To-night an entire change of programme will be submitted. The chief dramatic picture to be shown is “Stars and Stripes,” and the other pictures in,the section, are well up to standard. The scenic pictures are a varied lot, and, as usual, the comic department is well catered for. The dramatic picture, "The Blackbordered Letter,” is remarkable for sustained effect, the incidents bemg that the ending of the story cannot be anticipated until the last moment. It is said to be a line picture, showing how a shrewd detective counteracts the machinations of a pair of scheming money-grabbers who show no mercy to those standing between them and their prey.
