About 1908 I commenced running a ,;oal and wood business in addition to my carrying, and purchased a coal cart at £lO from Mr. Jury, paying cash. My business was gradually improving. in.the spine ygarj I obtained Mr. Newton lying’s'hide darting, and i purchased a ’lpn;y for about £SB, on bills' which 1 haddiqpld.ated in another Lwdlye months.' : ( At’ [the eaid of that time 1 pnrdifisocl a large; lorry’ for £6O odd from Mr. Pollopk, paying part in cash 1 - aiidl working off part. Two or three of ray other creditors sued me recently, and,l.was unable to meet their claims,.,, , 1, ascribe my failure to the keen competition I have met in my business, also ,to losing money on bad debts, to the,,action of the bank, and to my accident. , It will probably he fqur to six months before 1 am discharged from; j the hospital, and 1 regret that, it would-be useless at present for mo to make any offer to my crpclitfirs with rpgiircl to paying off any -.ftebts from future earnings.
