AMUSEMENTS.
HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. i A new programme was submitted it His Majesty’s Theatre last night before an appreciative audience. A fine selection of dramatic pictures were shown, including “On the Mexican Border,” “Paul and Virginia,” and ,“A Plain Song,” all of which tyere well received. The scenic films vbere all of a high order of merit, “On the Bengal Coast” being especially interesting, while “Marine \ iows, Naples,” and “The Isle of St. Eplda wbre also instructive. The comip soctioh was, as usual, well represented, “Whiit Happened to Aunty,” _ "Charlie Becomes a Warrior,” “Misplaced Jealousy,” “The Bowling Craze,” and “The’ Loading Lady,” all contributing tiljthe evening’s merriment. The programme will be repeated this evening. / On Monday evening anotlier now J programme will be screened. The dra- ' miitic pictures to be shown include “Stars and Stripes,” “The Son of the Doge,” “The Black-bordered Letter,” k and “Mother’s Boy”; the scenic section is represented by “Korean Ports’ “Viait to Berlin,” "Beautiful Gorges of Tarn,” and “Bastia to Corte” ; and “I'roublesome Baby,” “How he Made Hbad£ for the Flood,” “Bobby as Apache” and “Foolshcad as Telegraph Boy,” are relied on to provide laughter. WEST’S PICTURES. -'flib films screened last evening wore Well up to tho high standard of.the firth. An interesting photo, was ?‘Herring Fishing,’ ’which was so realistic that it gave a taste of seaweed kit'd, dba-hreezo. Pishing smacks of all descriptions were visible, and tho fhbthod of treating the fish for export Was also clearly shown. There were faiittiy dramatic films, “The Connecting Sf,” in which an invalid wife, tired latid, frolicsome lady, and a child brominent parts, was closely fratchoa. “Mount Etna in Eruption hod “Means of Conveyance in China Were, Splendid scenic films ,the latter particularly; whilst for comedy., several . filtfiS, particularly “Aspirants for the Halid of Elena,” were amusing in bitfery Sehse of the word. “Cow-boy s Glove” .was of the usual pistol-firing, cattUhstoaling. etc. type. “A Child’s Faith” wfls a domestic drama that appealed particularly to the feminine pbrtioh of the audience.
