MAXAWATU LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIPS. (Per Press Association.) Palmerston N., October 12. The Manawatu ladies’ open golf championship meeting was continued to-day in wet weather. In the second round of the championship Mrs Williams beat Miss McLean, (3 and o; Miss A. Pearce beat Miss Moore, G and 5; Miss Gould heat Miss Wilson, 5 and 3; Aliss Gorrie boat Miss Cowper, 6 and 5. The bogey match was won by Mrs L. Seifert, *of Manawatu (handicap 16), 3 up; Miss G. Gorrie, Auckland (6), 1 up; Airs Strang, Manawatu, all square; Aliss Wray, Manawatu, 1 down. Aliss Wray put in the host card (85), and Aliss A. Pearce, Aliss Gould and Airs Williams each returned cards of 87. Miss Pearce’s card included two penalty strokes through hitting a flag stick from within penalty distance. The four-hall match was won by Airs Alcßao (14) and Aliss Alooro (14), 5 up; Aliss G. Gorrie (5) and Aliss Humphreys 8), 4 up; Airs Williams (2) and Airs Abraham (12), 3 up. The semi-finals and the final of tho championship will he played to-day.
