Lyell directors and officers of the union was abortive, and lasted only an hour. The reinstatement of White is still the stumbling block. The union threaten to call out the engine-drivers and to allow water to Hood the mine. The manager says this cannot seriously injure the mine. Mr Hobart stated that the union does not intend to issue further provision coupons, and there is a great exodus of miners from the district. Homes sold for next to nothing.
