ROYALISTS IN A DEPLORABLE STATE. (Received 12, 8.55 a.m.) Lisbon, October 11. Isolated Monarchists arc wand nine; in the mountains in a famished state, and in rags. Arrests of Royalists continue throughout the country. Seventy armed men sacked St. Paul’s Convent and Church, and destroyed precious relics. _ Senator Castro, Minister for War, has resigned as a result of his not taking a serious view of the Monarchist raid and gradually reducing tiio northern troops. Other Ministers resigned in a. body as a protest, hut the President refused to accept their resignations, and requested Senator Castro’s individual resignation.
