CHURCH CONGRESS.
THE RESURRECTION
London, October 8,
At the Church Congress there were many complaints made that the dogma of the resurrection had' been dropped from religious teaching ’ except at Easter-tide.
The Dean of Lichfield said that without the resurrection Christianity was only one of the main' religious systems, groping pathetically' after G od.
Other speakers described tiro doctrine of a risen, living, ever-present and active Lord as the motive power of the Christian’s life and work. Hence the dogma of the resurrection ought to be restored to its old predominating place in sermon, worship and the sacraments.
