TOBRUK OCCUPIED
ITALIAN CRUISERS RECALLED

The “Telegraph’s” Sicily correspondent states that Italy informed all the European Powers many weeks in tdvanco of taking action of her intentions, but the news was kept from the newspapers to avoid an outbreak in the Balkans.
Rome, October 8. Some of the Turkish garrison are camped on the hills, five miles from Irinoli.
S r emi-oflicial messages from Massoivah state that the -forts at Hodeidah and a Turkish launch fired several shots at the gunboat Artusa. The latter replied and sank the launch. It is somi-officially stated that the Turks have landed 500 soldiers in violation of the self-government statute yt 1832, guaranteed by Britain, France, and Russia. Cairo, October S.
Two small Turkish steamers, unable to leave Suez, are being dismantled.
Calcutta, October 8. A council of Moslems of all India ;net at Lucknow and passed resolutions condemning Italy’s action, and idvising the boycotting of Italian foods, and appealing for British' intervention.
Paris, October 8
A telegram from Constantinople ?ays that the Turkish Cabinet lias decided to expel Italians from Turkey. Rome, Octoberv 8.
Official quarters, while recognising the anxiety of the Powers to see the conflict cease, warn the public that die time is not ripe for intervention, but they will welcome it when the Turks in Tripoli are completely overcome.
It is asserted that a complete agreement exists between Italy and the Po,wcrs on the subject. The Duke Abcozze is manoeuvring in the Aegean Sea to enable him to •apture the Turkish fleet if it comes into the open.
