PRIMITIVE METHODISM.

ANNIVERSARY

CELEBRATIONS

The twenty-first anniversary of the Broadway Primitive Methodist Church was celebrated yesterday by special services. A good congregation gathered in the morning, when the subject, “The Church’s Qualification for Service” was earnestly dealt with. In the evening the large number of worshippers filled every part of the building, and listened attentively to the sermon upon “What This Church Stands For.” Rev. Metson was the preacher throughout the day. A notable feature of the celebrations was the excellent singing of a large choir assisted by an orchestra. Splendid anthems were rendered, and tne welliaiown favourite hymns were sung with fervour and expression. Mr. C. Birkett ably wielded the baton while Miss E. E. Robinson presided creditably at the organ. The anniversary will be concluded on 'Tuesday next, when a tea and entertainment will be held, the former commencing at G. 30, the latter at 8 o.m. A large, varied, and fine programme consisting of solos (instrumental and vocal) choir pieces, etc., uas been prepared for that' evening, and a large audience is expected. Dr. Steven will be chairman of the gathering, and the Rev. C. C. Harrison will deliver an address entitled • Ihe Church of To-day and To-mor-row.”
