Wellington, October 7. His Excellency the Governor has received from the Earl of SUvdbioke, secretary to the George Fund, an acknowledgment of the £7O collected in New Zealand. Lord Strudbroke’ informs the Governor that a total of £3IOO was collected •'ir>>ighout the Empire, and it is proposed to present His Majesty with a badgv of St. George out of this sum, and invest the remainder to provide a scholarship for boys going into the navy.
