COPRA CARGOES

The copra cargo on the Taviuni is being discharged. It is not thought to be seriously damaged by immersion. Tire copra portion of the cargo has been salvaged from the wreck of tire Knight of Saint George at Nukualofa. MINE ACCIDENT.
Brisbane, October 4. A straight shaft at Marshall’s Queen mine, Charters Towers, collapsed and imprisoned four miners. The only communication with them is by' five hundred feet rise from the Bonnie Dundee. . Thfe staff is building fifty ladders ten feet long. It is expected they will be rescued to-day.
OBITUARY

The death has occurred of Mr James Thompson, a well-known studmaster, after a short illness.
A CHURCH PROTEST
Brisbane, October 4
A mooting of Anglican clergy protested at the choice of Easter for compulsory training camps, as an interference with religious liberty.
