Rome, October 3. “Tribuna” says that the transport Dorna, which was said to have been permitted by the Italian fieot to pass,, was shelled and sunk in order to enable the inhabitants to escape. Turkey’s second Note to the Pow- > rs, which has been published, states that she is convinced that it ,s still possible to end the war. Hence although she is entitled to i mpbv against Italy not only the mmi- >Ves automatically arising from a state of war, hut any which the situation will permit, such measures are being postponed. The Government is thus striving to stem the enthusiasm of tho Ottoman people, and hopes tho Powers will respond.
