PRACTICAL AGRICULTURE.
WANGANUI HIGH SCHOOL BOYS. (Per Press Association ) Feilding, October 3. By way of teaching practical agriculture the Wanganui Education Board has arranged a week’s camp for High School boys. The camp, which is the first of its kind in New Zealand, is now being held at Mr E. Short’s stud farm at Cheltenham, and thirtysix boys from Wanganui, Marlon, Taihape, and Feilding were present yesterday. Mr. J. Dunlop, manager of the stud farm, gave the boys a practical demonstration of the good points of horses and cattle, and valuable lectures are to follow. The boys will do actual farm work, during the week. Mr Pirani (chairman), Messrs Purnell and Guthrie, M.P. (members of the Board). Dir Braik (chief inspector) paid an official visit to the camp. Mr Jas. Grant, agricultural supervisor to the Wanganui Education Board, is in charge.
