BOWLING.
The Stratford Bowling green will be officially opened on Thursday, 2nd November next. The greenj under Mr. Smart’s supervision, is in capital order, and will open for practice on Thursday, sth inst. . The Hawera Club open their green on. Wednesday, 4th inst., and extend a cordial invitation to Stratford players to he present. The Stratford Club is sparing no expense in providing an up-to-date green. The ground has been redressed with soil obtained from Wanganui, a new lawn mower purchased, a number of live young players have joined the club, so that a successful season for 1911 and 1912 is assured.
