MOTOR BUS ACCIDENT.
FALLS INTO RIVER. SIXTEEN PERSONS DROWNED. Paris, September 27. A motor ’bus of new pattern, with no outside seats, was crossing the Pont-de-L’Archeveque in Paris when it swerved, demolished the parapet, and fell into the Seine. At the moment of skidding some passengers saved themselves by jumping through open windows; others on the outside platform scrambled on to the roof. Abbe Richard, of - Kelley, was amongst those immersed. The driver was rescued from the ’bus at the bottom of the Seine, it is feared that sixteen persons were drowned. Ten persons have been taken to hospital. LATER PARTICULARS. (Received 29,, 8.10 a.m.) Paris, September 28. Eleven persons were drowned, including the driver and three children. Tiie enginodriver lost his wife, brother, and all his children. Abbe Richard had the care of a lad, who was.drowned. They wore both in the ’bus. Abbe Richard extricated himself and then saved as many as he could roach.
