The Stratford Evening Post WITH WHICH IS INCORPORATED THE EGMONT SETTLER. THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 1911. UNRULY CONDUCT.

According to accounts which reach us, there was an element of larrikinism abroad on Tuesday night in Stratford that would have made a French “Apache” blush for his profession, and should call for vigilance on the part of the police should there be any future outbreak of a -similar nature. When boys forget themselves, as a number are stated to have done on Tuesday evening last, it is time for strong measures to induce them to act more rationally.' A largo force of the rising generation gathered in Broadway on the evening in question, and started with howls and yells for the residence of a newly-married couple on the East Road. On the way stones were thrown upon roofs of houses, frightening women and children; and on reaching their destination (it may be mentioned that the happy couple were away on their honeymoon) a most unseemly noise was made by shouting and hurling stones upon the roof of the building, to the great annoyance of neighbours. Not satisfied with this exhibition, the gates of several properties wore opened, and had any‘cattle or horses been wandering at large serious damage to gardens might have resulted. We like to sco boys and girls enjoying life to the utmost, hut prefer that it lie in engaging in amusements that will help to strengthen them morally and physically, and not in such an unprofitable manner as did the lads under discusion. It is regrettable there is not some means of compelling these boys to attend continuation classes.
