PORTABLE SCHOOL HOUSES.
tPer Press Association.) Auckland, September 27. At ihe meeting of the Auckland Education Board this morning it was decided, on the motion of Mr E. C. Banks, of Matamata, “That, in the districts where there are between ten and thirty children, and where the Ddpartment cannot see its way to make the usual grant of about £250 for the erection of a school, the Board asks the Department to make a grant sufficient for the erection of a- building about 15 leet square such building to be constructed so that when the population increai s and a larger building is inquired, it can bo used as the school porch.'
