FIRES.

(Ter Press Association.) Palmerston North, Sept. 28. A five occurred at 7.30 this morning in a five-roomed house owned by Mr. Gilbert. The house was fully furnished, hut not occupied at the time of the outbreak. The building was gutted, and tl)e furniture practically destroyed. The insurances are:— GIOO on building, in the London and Lancashire; and £IOO on the furniture, in the Standard.
