AN AIRSHIP WRECKED.
o NARROW ESCAPE OF CREW. London, September 25. The Admiralty’s airship was being towed out of its shed when if heeled ' ■over. The check-ropes guiding it were released, and the vessel righted itself, but heeled over again, bulged in the middle, and the stem sank in the water. The gondola underneath, with the officers, was partially submerged. The officers stuck to their posts. The crews in the towing boats dived safely. The sound of tearing and crackling alarmed the spectators. The tear extended over five sections, being due to a rupture of the gas bag. The wreckage was housed with difficulty. DUE TO NEGLECT. Paris, September 25. The disaster to the Liuerte was duo to neglect to flood the ammunition hold.: after an outbreak of fire, which at first was not regarded as serious. Tire hulk of tiie crew were asleep when the first explosion occurred. Awakened by the report they wont to their stations.
