TOKO SCHOOL CONCERT.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The annual school concert was held in the Coronation Hall last Thursday evening, and, thanks to a clear but rather cold night, it was a huge suc-c-;sa the seating accommodation of the hah being taxed to the utmost, considerably over £8 being taken at the door. The highest praise is due to Mr. Allan, the master, and the other members of the teaching staff (Miss Coleman and Miss Cameron), for the manner in which the children had been trained for the various items on the very lengthy programme. The arrangements were perfect, all the items being got off promptly and without any hitch whatever. The accompaniments were played by Miss Coleman) and the children kept in perfect tune and time. The programme was as follows: —That stirring song, “God Defend Now Zealand,” by the whole school, marshalled in front of two New Zealand Ensigns: recitation, four junior bovs, wand drill, senior boys; song, “Oh, How Do You Think the Children Do,” junior girls; comic reading, Masha Go*'. Were; song, “Birds,” junior children; recitation, “The Football Match,” (Master W. Kelleher; reading, “Wit and Humour,” Master Geo. Bain; song, “Silver Lake,” scholars; song, “Queen of the Earth,” Mr. N. Day; song, “Oh, Look sit those Children,” scholars; “Grumble Song,” by the boys; song, “Come, Bi> Merry and Jcwfu 1 .” by the girls; wand drill, senior hoys; song, “Won’t You Be My '1 eddy Bear?” Miss Norma MaxwcT; rcctaliou, Master Geo. Bain; ooug, 1 Buttei cup,” junior girls; song, “Won’t You Buy My Pretty J lowers,” bv t.l" girls; recitation. .Master Y» illie Kelleher; song, “The Picnic,” scholars; song, “Good Night,” junior children. The presentation of the prizes was Idion carried out, this being done by the Chairman, Mr. 1). S. Maxwell, assisted by (Messrs. Lees and Allan.
