Messrs Lamason and Melville have a quarter-acre section, with shops and cottages attacned, for immediate sale. On Thursday, September 23th, Mr Newton King conducts a sale of household furniture on account of Mr. A. T. McMahon. To-morrow Mr Newton King will conduct his usual weekly sale at his Haymarkct and Mart, and will also offer by auction the contents of a four-roomed house. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.’s springing heifer sale takes place at the Stratford yards to-n^crrow. Messrs Lamason and Melville will hold a sale of poultry, vegetables, furniture, etc., at their rooms, Broadway to-morrow. A notice in regard to the Maori professional football team appears elsewhere.

A first-class milker is advertising far employment. Mr' Charles E. James, of Broadway, is to the fore this year with a particularly up-to-date lot of fishing tackle, all new goods. Md. J. Brake's property has been withdrawn from sale. A girl for office is wanted. An advertiser has two unfurnished rooms to let. For a number of years South Taranaki has been recognised, both by breeders and buyers, as being a leading horse-breeding centre of the Dominion, and the Spring Fairs, which are held annually 7 at Hawera are very highly regarded. At this year’s sales the horses are a superior lot. The majority of those catalogued are coming direct from the breeders’ paddocks, and comprise many excellent types of all descriptions. No less than 1000 horses are catalogued, of this numJl or over ou-half are heavy and medium draughts, lorry horses, and good weighty growers, the balance [consist of useful van, carriage and light harness horses, including many good pairs, well-bred hacks, cobs, polo and Shetland ponies. Several Clydesdale and Shire colts, thoroughbred, coaching and pony stallions will also bo offered. This sale should afford an excellent opportunity, to those requiring good horses of all descriptons. The N.Z.
