ALLEGED EVASION OF CUSTOMS’ DUTY.

(Per Press Association .) Wellington, September 21. When the cases of the Minister for Customs v. the Australian Kodak Co., a claim for £20,040, penalty for alleged evasion of Customs’ duty, and the same plaintiff v. Harold Anthony Beauchamp for a like sum on the same allegations, were called before Mr Justice Edwards to-day the Solicitor-Gen-eral stated that the actions had been settled. Defendant company had paid a £SOOO penalty, together with £IOOO to cover costs and unpaid duty.
