THE BARQUENTINE CARLA

IN AN EASY POSITION. (Per Press Association 0 Wanganui, September 21. The Carla lies with her head to tiro soa in a very easy position on a soft sandy bottom about 150 yards from tiro shore, and a'bout two miles north of the cable station. The vessel apparently is undamaged, and, if the weather .takes up, is in a good position for refloating. The hatch covers appear to ho off, the decks are awash, and a donkey boiler is adiift. The vessel is only taking the wave tops aboard, and is not now being buffeted by the sea, which lias gone down considerably since yesterday. The local agents are awaiting a cable from the owners at Denmark before taking steps to refloat the vessel.
