CRICKET.
STRATFORD CLUB. The annual meeting of members of the Stratford Cricket Club was held last night, Mr. F. Dunlop occupying the chair. The balance-sheet showed that the receipts last year amounted to £l6 11s, and the expenditure to £l6 15s. The Chairman reported that already there,were a good number of men who had signified their intention of playing the game this season. The election of officers resulted as folloivs:—Patron, Mr. J. B. Hine, M.P.; president, Mr. A. W. Budge; vice-presidents, .Messrs. J. Masters, C. E. James, T. Marshall, F, W. Webster, S. M. Porritt, and Jos. McCluggago; secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. R. Barry; committee, Messrs. H. Prebble, F. Dunlop. Sharp, Boyes, Hartley, W. C. Cargill, and J. East; captain, Mr. F. Dunlop; vice-captain, Mr. H. Prebble; delegates to Cricket Association, Messrs. Dunlop and Sharp; selection committee, Messrs. Dunlop, Prebble, and Sharp. A ground committee will bo elected at an early date by the general committee. The question of arranging for the use of the A. and P. Grounds was left in the hands of the committee. It was decided that the subscription to the club remain the same as last year, and that all subscriptions lie paid before members are allowed to play. Last season Mr. J. B. Hino presented a bat to the club to lie awarded to the member making the best batting average. Following were the highest averages:—-Dunlop 31.1, Prebble 26.3, Beale 21, Richmond 13.6, Barry 7, Cargill 5.6. The bat was, therefore, presented to Mr. Dunlop.
