FIRES.

FIVE DWELLINGS BURNED. (Par Press Association.) Wellington, September 19. Five houses at Hataitai were destroyed by fire to-night. Two were unoccupied. The others were occupied by Patrick O’Kane, J. Godfrey and Gilbert Hall. Three of tho houses were owned by Bird Bros. A hurricane was blowing at the time of the (ire, which originated in O’Kane’s house. The whole of the five dwellings were razed to tho ground. Tho insurances wore not ascertainable tonight.
