GASOLENE-PROPELLED LAWNMOWERS.

The German Government has recently bought two lawn-mowers which are propelled by means of gasolene engines. These mowers are used for cutting parklawns. The type of engine used is similar to that of an automobile. It. is connected by means of a chain to a pair of traction'wheels, on which the frame of .the machine is supported. In addition to this there is a single wheel at‘ the roar, which may lie turned to steer' the moSvcr. Directly in front of the traction wheel are the grass-cutting knives arranged in the usual spiral form. Those knives may lie adjusted up and down as in tiie usual lawn-mower, and they are driven by direct connection with the motor.
