BIRD ROAD NOTES.
(From Out Own Correspondent.) A concert in aid of the school funds was held on the 7th inst., and was one of .the largest and most successful . gatherings of the sort over icld in the district. Every item rendered brought forth loud applause. The greater part of the programme was rendered by the school •liildren, who acquitted themselves post creditably, and showed they had men well trained. The audience evidently realised the amount. ,• of time fad pains that had been expended by the 'teacher, Aiiss Berry, and those .who had helped her.■ ■ Songs and musical items were .contributed by the tollong:—Songs, Misses. A. 'and H. Breen, . M. Brown, Mrs. \ Pierce, Messrs. 1 Kenny j Giddy, Lamason ; recitations, il. Willis and. Mr., Abraham ; duet,. Messrs Cdstoffel (violen) ,md.Column (piano). A, very amusing dialogue, by Mr. Kenny and Mr. Colnan brought the entertainment to a ■lose, a -Accompaniments wer-5 played hy Mdsdames Williams, Pierce, and {coding, and Air. G.,CoJman.
