Lambie, Marfcll, Cleaver, Dunn, and J. Davidson. In the absence of the president (Mr J. W. Jones) Mr Davidson (vice-president) occupied the chair. Special donations of £4 and £2 2s were received from the Te Roti and Eltham branches respectively.— Donors to be accorded a vote of thanks. Mr George Prcece wrote tendering his resignation as a member of tte Executive, as owing to family illness, he was unable to devote the time necessary to so important an office. Mr Prcece asked the executive to accept a donation of £1 towards the funds. / On tiie motion of the chairman, seconded by Mr Lambie, the resignation was accepted with regret, and that Mr Preece bo thanked, for his donation. The chairman said he was sorry that Mr Prcece had resigned because he was a good man on public bodies. This was endorsed by those present. The Toko branch forwarded a resolution, saying the branch disapproved, of Mr Sidey’s Daylight Saving Bill, as it would cause inconvenience to dairy farmers and others. Members were not favourable to the Bill, and it was resolved to inform the Toko branch, that the executive approved of its resolution. The Kaimata branch forwarded a resolution in connection with the Seeds Sale and Control Bill, pointing out that it was desirable that all seeds should bo inspected by one or more central authority, preferably by experts under he Government, and all seeds bearing certificate of the inspectors shall bo a guarantee that the seeds are clean within the meaning of the Act.

It was thought that it would he a good idea if a conference of those interested in the sale of seeds could be held to thoroughly discuss the matter so as to ensure stops being taken to have nothing but the best of seed marketed. Mr Maxwell moved that the executive is favourable to the • postponement of the Bill until after a confer- \ ence heweon the seed merchants, A. and P. Associations, and representatives of the farming community consider the Bill. Mr Dunn seconded the motion, which was carried. A copy of the resolution, together with a copy of the Kaimata branch’s letter, is to be forwarded to the Taranaki members of Parliament. Tho Dominion Secretary forwaded the following .resolution, discussed at the Dominion Conference, back to the executive for consideration:— That this conference protests against auctioneers discriminating between dairy and dry stock, the 5 per cent commission charged for dairy stock being excessive' when sold in lots of w more. r _ s , f|n . Mr Jack stated that the delegates from the south had said at the conference that they had been able to make satisfactory arrangements with the 'local auctioneers, and it was thought that the Taranaki 'Executive would be able to do likewise. The members considered that a sat-isfactory-arrangement might bo made with the auctioneers, and it was resolved to write to the various auctioneers in the provincial district of Taranaki, saying the executive sees no reason why concessions on sale of dairy stock should be higher than on dry stock when being sold in the sale yards. A number of remits dealt with at the recent conference were forwarded to the executive for an expression of opinion, and it was resolved that those be sent on to the various branches for consideration, the replies to be returned by next meeting.
