Federal senate adjourns. Melbourne, September 15. •The Senate adjourned till October 4th, there being no business to transact. The House of Representatives arc continuing the Address-in-Reply. MR WILLIS ON TOUR. t Sydney, September 15. Mr Willis is visiting his constituents to explain the political position. \ (Received 16, 9.30 a.m.) Sydney, September 16. Tho late Mudgee by-election has led to trouble between legislators. Mr Meagher, has issued a writ against Colonel Onslow, for alleged slander. Mr Willis claims that ho was still and always would be a Liberal. Ho had agrqed to help the Labour Party on the understanding that no contentious legislation was introduced, and that there was no dissolution till there had been a redistribution of scats and electoral boundaries. After warmly attacking Mr Wade and other Liberals on their attitude, Mr Willis challenged Mr Wade to resign and contest Upper Hunter against him. , " Perth, September 16. The Premier has announced that the Government will not subsidise the Mawson expedition, considering it entirely a Commonwealth matter.
