MUNICIPAL BY-ELECTION.

(Per Press Association.) Gisborne, September 14. Polling took place to-day in connection with the vacancies caused by the retirement of Mr W. D. Lysnar (the Mayor) and Cr Frank Harris, and the consequent elevation of Cr Wm. Pettie to the Mayoralty. The result of the election was as follows: John W. Bright 915, Geo. Wildish 727, J. S. Sheridan 673, D. W. Coleman 584, A. H. Anderson 548, lair Sinison 175, and Wong King 134.
