SCHOOLBOY STRIKES.
CONTINUED IN SEVERAL TOWNS. London, September 14. * Rain damped the enthusiasm of the schoolboys’ strike in London. The disturbances were continued in Leeds, Sheffield, Birkenhead, Colchester, Leith, Coventry, Newport, Luton, Grantham, Leicester, Northampton, Folkestone, Greenock, Dublin, Liverpool, Nottingham and Grimsby. There were the, usual processions and intimidation of “blacklegs.” Industrial unrest VOLUNTEER POLICE. London, September 14. It is announced by the Sheffield City Council that Mr Winston Churchill is endeavouring to arrange for the formation of a volunteer police force in all the large centres of population to cope with emergencies like the recent strikes.
