MUCH DAMAGE DONE. (Received 15, 8.5 a.m.) Rome, September 14. Seventy-seven craters are erupting smoke to a considerable height, the central crater hurling a fury of rocks weighing many tons. Lava is advacing 120 miles an hour. There is a stream 500 metres broad. The railway is flooded and impassable, and a number of villas have been destroyed. A rain of ashes continues. It is estimated that the damage is two hundred and fifty thousand sterling. . Crowds of English and American tourists are ready to ascend Etna, (Received 15, 11.20 a.m.) Rome, September 14. Earthquakes are reported from Florence, Vienna and elsewhere. Lava from 'Etna destroyed a fertile district called Imboxhimonto.
