THE VICTORIAN BUDGET. By Electric Telegraph.— Copyright. United Press Association. Melbourne, September 14. In the Assembly the Treasurer delivered liis Budget. The revenue is £9,142,534, £175,869 in excess of the estimate. The expenditure was £9,117,212, or £176,935 Tn excess of fciie estimate. The railway surplus is £262,210. The State coal mine has produced £15,578. Interest received on advances to land purchase, water trusts, etc., exceeded the interest payable by £47,822. It is .claimed these figures show that there is no \ ictorian public debt. Oversea trade totalled £38,190,842, an increase of 25 per cent, in three years. The State’s production totalled £43,481,777. an increase of 20 per cent. The bank deposits were £17,272,000, an increase of £2 10s per head in three years. The credit foncicr system proved highly successful. The estimated revenue for the current year is £9,686,000; expenditure £9,656,424. NEW SOUTH WALES PARLIAMENT. (Received 15, 9.5 a.m.) Sydney, September 15. In the Assembly, under the Speaker’s new regime, motions dissenting from the rulings of the chair are not allowed to appear on the business paper, Mr Willis apparently regarding them as disorderly. Mr Griffiths 1 as introduced his public works proposals. They include thirty-six schemes, including several railways, bridging the harbour, central meat market ir Sydney, and a floating dock for Newcastle, the total cost limning into millions.
