Sir John Findlay, interviewed re the statement in the “Hawera Star” that ho had definitely decided to contest Egmont, said the statement was not true. Strong representations had been made to him to contest this scat, and he had had similar requests in respect of other electorates. Tie had the matter under consideration, hut had not yet decided which scat he would stand for.
