THE ERUPTION OF ETNA.
INHABITANTS PANIC-STRICKEN. Rome, September 13. The eruption is a grander spectacle than in 1910. Sixteen craters are belhcing fire and smoke, and to lower craters lava, which is travelling 400 yards per hour, ravaging vineyards, and destroying cottages. , Pine forests are burning fiercely. There are incessant earthquakes, accompanied by noises like bombs exploding. Tho inhabitants aro panic-stricken and aro seeking safety on the plains.
