At the annual meeting of the Chamhcr ol Uonmierce last iiiglit Mr. I‘red Pirani was elected president, i lie Chamber took strong action ■to nave the electoral so arranged to ensure community of interest. It was stated that a grade feed oats imported from tlie South Island, though passed by the Government grader, contained a good deal of Calitornian thistle seed. It was decided to ask the member for tho electorate to bring the matter under tlie notice of the Government.
