A large crowd of spectators witnessed the hard-fought game, enthusiasm being high. Play on both sides was brilliant. When the whistle sounded the scores were one goal each. As one team had to win, play was resumed. Hawke’s Bay wore fresh, and Nelson were weakening. Vigorous play resulted, but no score was registered in the first fifteen minutes. Then Nelson got a corner hit. from which Miss Carrick hit into goal, and the game ended soon afterwards. After the game the Hon.
