GEORGE S. HENDERSON, LAND AGENT, HAMILTON : : WAIKATO. P.O. Box 27. Correspondence Invited. Reprint from the “London and Provincial Music Trades Review.” At the recent competition held in London by the Music Trades Association of Groat Britain, open to Pianoforte Manufacturers throughout the world, for an Upright Iron Grand, the Instrument manufactured bv WILLIAM SAMES, LTD., Birmingham and London, obtained the highest possible number of marks in every one of the twenty-three particulars. A largo number of manufacturers competed, both English and foreign, and it is satisfactory to know that the result is in favour of the British workman. The examination, which was conducted by about seven experts in Pianos, was a severe one, and as no maker’s name appeared on any of the Instruments, there is no doubt as to its fairness. WILLIAM SAMES, LTD., were accordingly appointed makers to the Association, and received a large contract for a yearly simply of their Pianos. • E.*DIXON AND CO., Stratford.
