INDUSTRIAL UNREST.

(Received 8, 10.55 a.m.) Sydney, September 8. The Setton Mines Lodge has intimated that a startling development is imminent in connection with a wheelers’ strike. The employees held a conference, but declined to state the nature of their deliberations. Mr Edden, accompanied by two members of the district, have left for Newcastle to endeavour to effect a settlement. The united steamship owners decline to carry pigiron produced by nonunion labour at Lithgow. It is supposed they are afraid of a conflict with the wharf labourers.
