HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. There was a large audience at His Majesty’s Theatre last night to witness tno second of this week’s pro“The Knight of the Road” is a very exciting drama, depicting a band of tramps amongst whoifi is one known as French Harp Harry, called so from his constant playing of, a mouth organ. The gang overhear of a large ranch owner obtaining a considerable amount of money from the hank to pay the ranch workers. They decide to , rob , the house in the absence of the owner, who leaves his daughter at home whilst he visits the workmen’s huts. The gang, are staggered when Harry, after recognising the ranch owner's daughter 'as one who assisted __ him when' starving, refuses to join them in the plot, but informs the owner, who,, ivilh the ranchmen, arrive at the house just in time, to save the girl front,being garotted. The father is struck with the tramp’s honesty and offers to keep him, out during the night the tramp departs to resume Ins lazy life. “Snakes and Their Habits” is "a highly. instructive film, showing the- reptiles in their native haunts, and also a fight between an adder and a kitten,, the latter displaying much wariness. “The Flag of His Country” is a most powerful picture i drama depicting incidents of the American Civil War. When war is declared, two brothers are seen preparing .for .the front—one going to fight for. the. North and the other for the South-,, ~The latter’s wife (a beautiful young;.woman) tries to persuade him tp, support the North, but lie will not listen. Five years later, when ho rctiirhs from the war, his home is deserted,; and he can find no trace of his wife_or son. Thirty years later his son is married, and has a sweet little babv girl. The child, while out walking' with the grandmother, strays away and is lost. The grandfather finds -the lost child, and when a lady and, gentleman come to claim the child he finds the lady is his long-lost wife, and,the man is his brother. “The King at Aldershot” is a beautiful military picture displaying the training of both men and horses. It is extremely'interesting as well as instructive. The picture opens with cavalry and artillery troops on the march, illustrating the advantage of thoroughly traihed horses. It also shows a great number of foot troops manoeuvring. The most striking feature of the picture is a very realistic sham fight. • A picture valued at £3 10s will be presented to the patron who secures the lucky seat on Tuesday next. CQRONATIONSKATING RINK. CHILDREN’S CARNIVAL. Great interest is being taken by the children in this event, which takes Slace on Tuesday evening next. The isplay of fancy costumes will no doubt be exceedingly pretty, whilst the: comic element is being well catered lor. Special novelties will be introduced, wmich will cause heaps of fun, both for skaters and onlookers. The hall will be nicely decorated, and, with plenty of good music the cb !lrl, 'p" should have a real good time. Prizes are on view at Mrs. McCallum’s drapery establishment.
