(Per Press Association ) Auckland, Septetmbcr 6. At a meeting of tho Auckland Licensing Committee the sub-inspector stated that the licensees had carried out their promise to refrain from soiling drink to women for consumption on hotel promises, in a thoroughly satisfactory way, except in tho case cjf the Edinburgh Castle Hotel. On the night of August 12th he found there ten women and one man drinking liquor at tables and one woman waiting to ho served. Counsel for the licensee said the latter bad done bis best to fulfil the promise made, but found his custom slipping away. The Bench said they did not want to analyse reasons, and could only say they wore disappointed.
