It is being hiifitubf steel encased in brick and The roof, which was to bo according to the plans, approved by the City Council to be laid garden. iMn-Gleeson proposes now to dispense wiifhi this scheme ,and has applied to theoiCity Council for permission to sfchiiitute two additional storeys, makingathe building an eleven-storey stramiure. If the application is gtanted the building will rise to a hdjght of 120 ft. above the pavement, and>ovill thus be the highest in New ZeMand. It is expected, however, thdfccthe application for a permit to erbetr a building eleven storeys high willliiieet with some opposition in the Council. ' i -M' \
