Reprint from the “London and Provincial Music Trades Review.” At the recent competition held in London by the Music Trades Association of Groat Britain, open to Pianoforte Manufacturers throughout the world, for an Upright Iron Grand, the Instrument manufactured by WILLIAM SAMES, LTD., Birmingham and London, obtained the highest possible number of marks in every one of the twenty-three particulars. A large number of manufacturers competed, both English and foreign, and it is satisfactory to know that, the result is in favour of the British workman. The examination, which was conducted by about seven experts in Pianos, was a severe one, and as no maker’s name appeared on any of the Instruments, there is no doubt as to its fairness. WILLIAM SAMES. LTD., were accordingly appointed makers to the Association, *and received a largo contract for a yearly supply of their Pianos. E. DIXON AND CO., Stratford.
